Hole Description
The opening hole at Lake Quivira starts with a difficult tee shot right out of the gate. Don’t let the yardage on the scorecard trick you on this straightforward tree-lined par 4. An accurate tee shot will leave you with an approach shot that requires some thought. Players will need to equate for the downhill second shot to a green that if an approach shot is long or left will leave a very difficult up and down. 

Hole Description
One of the signature holes on the course, hole #2 is a relatively long par 5 that plays slightly uphill. An accurate tee shot must avoid the right-hand side fairway bunker. Longer hitters will have the chance to reach this green in two, however, they must hit a precise second shot that plays about a club uphill surrounded by penalty areas. Players laying up are left with no simple task, as lay-up shots must avoid a fairway bunker on the left-hand side, a pond on the right-hand side and a creek that runs from the back left portion of the green all the way to the pond.  

Hole Description
Hole 3 features one of the toughest fairways to hit in all of Kansas City! With its severe left-to-right sloping fairway, most tee shots will end up on the right side of the fairway or rough. Tee shots that end up left of the fairway will lead to either a pitch out or punch shot under the trees. Approach shots will need to avoid the green side bunker on the right and not miss long.

Hole Description
This long, uphill, tree-lined par 4(men) par 5(women), plays as the number 1 handicap hole for the men. Players who find the fairway will still have a difficult uphill approach shot that plays at least a club or two uphill. A steep false front will swallow up shots that are short and funnel them at least 20-30 yards back. The 4th green is one of the largest on the course and is protected by bunkers on both sides and slopes from back to front.  

Hole Description
Players will again have to contest with a severely sloping fairway that pulls from left to right. A short subtle dog-leg right par 4 that requires a tee shot that favors the left-hand side. Tee shots hit too far to the right will need to avoid the large oak tree for their approach shot. Players finding the fairway will be left with a short iron into a green that slopes left to right and has danger on all surrounding sides.

Hole Description
The highest point of the property. Enjoy the beautiful views before taking in this long downhill par 3. Players will need to adjust their yardages 15-20 yards less from the tee. Tee shots short and right will want to kick onto the green, however, miss too far right and you will leave yourself with one of the most difficult pitches on the course to a green that slopes severely from right to left. 

Hole Description
A short downhill par 5 with one of the most difficult tee shots on the course. Hole #7 offers another beautiful view, with a large elevation change from tee to fairway.  With out-of-bounds along the entire right side of the hole and trees along the entire left side, this short par 5 can be a challenge for any shot hit offline. Approach shots must be wary as the green is guarded by two bunkers and steep drop-offs. 

Hole Description
What many would call the signature hole of Lake Quivira, this picturesque short par 3 presents players with a slightly elevated tee shot over water. A notorious bunker and steep greenside elevation changes punish any errant tee shots. Players who find the green from the tee will have a relatively simple birdie opportunity.

The inward nine begins with a short, but challenging, uphill par 3 that typically plays into a prevailing wind. The three-tiered green is not visible from the tee and is protected by a bunker and a very steep false front. Trust us, even on a calm day, you will need to take at least one extra club off the tee here.

Hole Description
The Par 4 11th hole offers players a little reprieve from the narrow tee shots they had on the front nine with a gentle left-to-right shaping fairway that gradually slopes towards the hole. The fairway is one of the wider fairways Lake Quivira has to offer and feeds balls towards the right side, but not as severely as previous holes. With steep slopes on either side of this elevated green, accuracy on your approach shot is crucial.

Hole Description
THE most picturesque hole on the golf course. Before teeing off from well above the fairway, take some time to enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Quivira and the surrounding areas. Tee shots should favor the left center of this fairway to avoid the OB on the right side and the chance of being blocked out on your second shot by a large tree short and right of the green. Longer hitters can drive this green. Take care with approach shots to this undulating green protected by a large bunker short and left. This is a real birdie chance! Take advantage!

Hole Description
A risk-reward tee shot from the edge of the lake. This 90* dogleg right can be played a couple of ways. The safe option is to hit a tee ball between 200-230 to the corner of the dogleg leaving a shot of 150-170 yards to a large green. The riskier option is to take it over the large trees to leave a shorter approach. A large pond 40-60 yards short of the green will make this a 3-shot hole for a shorter hitter or a poor tee shot. The large green is guarded by bunkers left and right and slopes from back to front.

Hole Description
Nestled deep in the woods, the beautiful Par 3 14th features an elevated tee shot that is all carry over a valley to an elevated green. Do not let the beauty of this hole fool you as the green is well protected on all sides with steep drop-offs and a severely undulating putting surface. As tall trees surround the entire hole, club selection is crucial if players are hoping to escape with a good score.

Hole Description
Arguably the most difficult hole on the entire course, the par 5 15th hole offers’ players multiple tough decisions to make as the hole progresses. To start, players will have to decide what club to hit off the tee as the fairway is split in half by a creek that runs from right to left. Long hitters may be able to reach the green in two if they find the fairway and hit it close enough to the creek. On the second shot, players will need to contend with a severe right-to-left sloping fairway and a creek that spans all the way to the green. If players manage to find the upper half of the fairway, the approach shot into the green is welcoming, whereas those finding the lower half of the fairway, will find a much more challenging shot. The green is large and well-protected on the left side with subtle undulations to make a challenging hole even more exciting.

Hole Description
The final par 3 on the course. A long uphill shot like the other two par 3’s on the back nine, any ball landing short will feed back down to a collection area short of the green. This green is also protected by a bunker left and another runoff area right of the green. Par is a great score on all par 3’s at Lake Quivira.

The beautiful slight dogleg left par 4 17th hole at Lake Quivira will challenge players of all skill levels off the tee. Despite the large fairway, the tee shot is visually intimidating, with trouble along the entire left side of the fairway. Longer players can challenge the left side, however, they need to be careful not hit it through the fairway on the right. The green is guarded by a bunker and penalty area on the left, and a large drop-off behind the green. Balls landing on the right side of the green will feed toward the middle. 

Hole Description
A great opportunity to finish your round on a high note. Players will arrive to the tee box of the home hole and be treated with another wonderful view. The elevated tee box of the Par 5 18th hole will show players a hole that starts straight and then gently bends to the right as players approach the green. Tee shots should favor the left side of the fairway as the slope will feed balls to the right rough. If positioned correctly off the tee, players will have a welcoming, downhill, approach into this well-defended, yet receptive green for their chance for an eagle or birdie. Errant shots into the green will be punished by two bunkers on either side of the green and a sharp drop-off behind the back side of the putting surface.
